A case study of a unique pilot project in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh that establishes the need for active community participation to build resilience to climate change

Addressing climate change in urban areas requires building resilience to deal with the impacts of climate change. Urban climate change resilience planning is  closely linked to urban development processes. This report focuses on a unique model created by Gorakhpur Environmental Action Group (GEAG), an NGO working in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, as a micro-resilience plan against climate  change in an urban context. The plan uses participatory approaches and bottom- up development planning.
